Important Notice Regarding COVID-19
To help protect our clients, volunteers and staff during this time, our office will be closed temporarily. We are still available by text or phone call at 973-440-9974; we will get back to you quickly. We have also put together a resource for our clients on managing pregnancy during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to re-opening soon.
When considering an abortion, your health and safety are important to us. We are here to help you sort through all of your questions and concerns.
At your appointment, you will be provided a lab-quality pregnancy test. If positive, you may be offered an ultrasound. A free ultrasound can confirm a viable pregnancy and estimate how far along in pregnancy you are. Even if you are considering abortion, an ultrasound will provide important information that will tell you more about your pregnancy and your abortion options. Medical services are provided free of charge by a licensed medical professional.
There are two main types of abortion.
Medication abortion (also called the abortion pill) can be taken up to 70 days (10 weeks pregnant) after the start of your last menstrual period. The pill (two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol) is taken in two doses, one typically at a doctor’s office and the other at home.
There are several types of surgical abortions. Suction aspiration, also called suction curettage, or vacuum aspiration abortion, is performed during the first 6 to 16 weeks gestation. Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) is another type of procedure typically done in later weeks. Both types have risks and side-effects and greatly vary depending on your gestation and health.
If you are considering abortion, your first step is a pre-abortion consultation. We never financially benefit from your decision and can discuss your options with absolutely no pressure. All services are free and confidential.
